2008
I travelled to Asia where I spent five weeks residing in Hong Kong. Accompanied by a Chinese Travel Guide from Shanghai, I spent five weeks travelling through four provinces in South East China. I then travelled through Thailand for three weeks before returning home.
2002
I travelled to Sydney to photograph the Gay Games. I was the Photographer for Team Wellington. My focus was mainly on the Wellington Vets Hockey Team and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
2000
I was commissioned by The New Zealand Family Planning’s International Development Unit to travel to Fiji and Vanuatu to photograph the Study of Reproductive Health and HIV/Aids. I accompanied ten invited Press/Radio Journalists from across New Zealand for ten days and on our return to New Zealand, in conjunction with the Journalists reports, had many photographs published with associated stories in newspapers across the country. 1996
With a Swedish Photojournalist I travelled over-land through Thailand and Laos into Vietnam for four months by motorbike from Ho Chi Minh City to Baca on the Northern Border with China. We spent six months visiting various ethnic minority groups – the H’mong, Dao, Tai, Karen, and Tay tribes. Our journey offered us an authentic cultural experience and an intriguing insight into the diverse and independent lifestyles of the hill tribes across three countries. I was both inspired and humbled by the spirit of the people, and for a short time my mind wandered away from the images of the Vietnam War.
1996
Sri Lanka - Travelling by motorbike we rode across two thirds of the country photographing the people, the landscape and the culture, visiting people we had previously photographed in 1994 and sharing our photographs with them.
1994
After living in London, Sweden, Israel and Spain over a period of four and a half years I returned home to New Zealand via India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand and enjoyed a wide range of photographic opportunities, enhancing my own portfolio. I travelled through much of Sri Lanka. We hired a motorbike and spent four months travelling from Karinda Beach in the South, to Jaffna in the North.
